If you’re wondering why there have been so many Facebook statuses from the university about safety on campus lately…this is why!
I think the latest I’ve ever been at Uni is about midnight? And yes, that was rather creepy walking around in near pitch black darkness.
And because it’s swotvac, and lots of people are staying late to study. So while we are heading home, it’s important to keep a look out for strange people lurking about campus at night.
But we can all do one better by downloading the Safer Community Program’s UniSafe app to your phones!
What is this UniSafe app?
The app has important phone numbers when you are in an emergency, including our security staff at uni! You can actually call FROM the app which is pretty cool. There are also other pages on the app for support services such as counselling and psychological services, disability liaison, international student support etc. There’s also personal safety tips on there, you can call for a security escort if you feel unsafe walking around campus and so much more!
If you want to know more about the app, read my previous post here!
p.s. Don’t worry android users, the Safer Community Program have got you covered – the app is available on both apple and android phones :)
Download the app!
Stay alert and keep your eyes open for strange, suspicious people!
