The title gives it away, but I have some very exciting news to share with you!

You may have seen that the University was looking for 2 social media interns to join the Marketing team the other month.

I actually saw the internship advertised last year, and I considered applying for it – but didn’t.

And throughout that year, I was quite annoyed at myself that I didn’t apply for it. It was such a great opportunity, and the two interns last year seemed to have so much fun doing it.

So when the University was recruiting for the 2014 interns, there was absolutely NO WAY I was going to let this one slide.

I applied for the internship, and….I GOT IT!

This is HUGE! I am beyond thrilled to be joining the social media team at the University. My role involves contributing to the official University social media channels – facebook, twitter, instagram etc. So you will catch me around!

It’s also a bittersweet moment, because I really loved my job at AMSI (Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute). But this internship was too good to pass.

However – in light with my new job, I need to make a few clarifications about where Unimelb Adventures fits in with all this.

Unimelb Adventures is not affiliated nor endorsed by the University. It’s a student blog I write in my own time.

Just in case if you weren’t aware – this blog has no official ties with any part of the University, and the views expressed here are not necessarily representative of the University.

I just want us all to be on the same page to avoid confusion. Plus I don’t want to get myself or my new lovely employers into trouble because of the things I may post here.

And I also want to be clear that anything I write here, isn’t here because I was asked to do it by the Uni – they don’t want to tell me what to write.

Do keep an eye on the University facebook page – I’m going to be in a welcome post on there pretty soon. Please say hello?
