If you’re looking for a quiet, cosy place to unwind – try the Environments and Design Student Lounge.
This area is tucked away on the ground floor of the Baldwin Spencer building, and is easily missed by many. I stumbled across this lounge by accident! I was trying to find an alternate entrance to my lecture theatre.
Although they say it’s a lounge for environments and design people, it’s not like they’re going to check your student ID and ask what you’re studying and kick you out etc.
It’s a nice, clean, brightly-lit space with several powerpoints around the room. Lots of couches around too – but I find the arm rests quite awkward. I used to go here to read books, or to have a sneaky nap.
The only downfall is that UniWireless is horrendous here. Don’t count on being connected to UniWireless here.
You know when you walk from Union House to Redmond Barry along that pathway near the Union Lawn/Architecture Building
Yep, walk on that path and you should find this entrance to the Baldwin Spencer Building.
Enter through here (it’s probably the easiest way to find the lounge), and if memory serves me well, you want to keep turning right.
Enjoy the space!
